Construction on the new Bonsai Pavilion at the Wild Animal Park

Here's the waterfall itself, coming down from the right hand slope. So many cables and irrigation hoses run above it, which really distract from the ambience. However, there was some discussion of skimming off the green algae sludge on the still water, for fertilizer. Apparently it is pretty good for orchids and such. However, the point was made that skimming that sludge off would make things rather stinky in the vicinity and the idea was abandoned.

Someone's car would have smelled really bad.

At the back end now, cutting the shadecloth and removing the many little metal brackets that held it to the cable. The crews have to be careful, as the cable is under some tension. Cutting it causes it to whip around a bit, so they are constantly aware of exactly what is being done at the top of the ladder.

The left side team coming down the home stretch. This is the side with the downward slope, and a retaining wall. There is some concern about the wall and whether it is going to need reinforcement.
